About Readsboro Arts

Enriching Lives through Art

Founded in 2006 by a group of residents seeking to revitalize the local arts scene, Readsboro Arts is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation comprised of artists and art-lovers in the local community.  Our mission is to support and promote the growth of the arts in Readsboro and the surrounding area—because we believe that art has the power to enrich the lives of everyone, from children to senior citizens.

Through our wide range of programs, Readsboro residents and visitors can experience the arts in a variety of ways—hands-on workshops, visits to local artists’ studios, concerts, craft fairs, community arts projects and more.

Our past programs have included:

  • Supporting participation in annual statewide Vermont Crafts Council Open Studio Weekends
  • Developing of a community arts space in Readsboro
  • Providing grants for public arts projects
  • Sponsoring concerts by regional favorites, ranging from folk singers to jazz quartets
  • Sponsoring Art fits Vermont, a statewide community arts project presented by the Vermont Arts Council and its partners.
  • Sponsoring a fiberglass bear, hand-painted by students at Readsboro Central School as part of the “Bears in the Valley” community art project.
