Readsboro Arts Festival at Readsboro Central School

The 2016 Readsboro Arts Festival is an annual event that highlights the creative output of the many artists and crafts people in the region. The festival, which presents work for dispaly and sale, will take place on Saturday, September 10th, between 10am and 4pm. Over twenty vendors set up in the gymnasium of Readsboro Central School.

They include a host of talented artisans from Readsboro as well as western Massachusetts who will be displaying a wide variety of crafts and fine art: glasswork, hooked rugs, jewelry, paintings, photography, quilts & woodworking to name a few. This year’s vendors include: Sherry Adams, Mary Angus, Ellen Bailey, Judith Barlow, Martha Beauchamp, Stacy Birch, Deborah Canedy, Jeannette Eckert, Mary Ann Furgalack, Alan Gilburg, Julie Havness, Jane May Jones, Robert Lefebvre, Mark Lowe, Diane Lussardi, Linda Sherman, Elizabeth Smith, Mary Weissbrodt.

There will also be activities for children and live music at the festival, with some top bands from the region playing throughout the day: Skip & Laraine Morrow, Blueberry Buckle and The Jeanine Marie Quartet.  Lunch and dessert will be available.

Readsboro Open at Confluence

Concurrent with this year’s Readsboro Arts Festival, Confluence, a gallery recently opened in the newly renovated E.J. Bullock Building on Main Street, and a short walk from the festival, will be exhibiting work by artists from Readsboro and the surrounding area, submitted through the gallery’s first juried open call, juried by Ron and Tiger Waterman.

Work to be shown at Confluence’s “Readsboro Open” includes watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, quilts, photography, turned wood, blown glass. Artists are all from Windham, Bennington and northern Berkshire county.

The Opening Reception takes place September 9th from 5 PM to 7 PM. The show is up from September 10th to October 16th.  The gallery is open on Saturday from 10 to 4 and on Sunday from noon to 4, and by appointment. To contact Confluence, send email to email hidden; JavaScript is required
