The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow
Saturday, August 15th, 8pm
Readsboro Arts presents The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow in concert, with a special screening of the award winning short documentary about the group, on Saturday, August 15, in the historic EJ Bullock Bldg, 7012 Main Street, Readsboro VT.
The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow brings together five Massachusetts singer-songwriters sharing the stage and performing each other’s songs together, combining traditional folk and blues with contemporary folk-rock. The Roadshow is Greg Smith from Charlemont, Tory Hanna from Buckland, Billy Keane from Pittsfield, Abe Loomis from Conway, and David Tanklefsky from Cambridge.
They sing songs about the beauty of western Massachusetts, the joys of small town life and, of course, about whiskey. Some of these musicians play rock music while others lean more toward the sounds of Americana and roots music.
“The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow”, a 23-minute documentary, follows the band on their first tour across Massachusetts last summer. The short film, directed by Tim Bradley, captures the band performing during its four-day Roadshow tour and also features interviews and performances at various local spots. Viewers can expect to see a lot of Franklin County. The film speaks to the beauty of the landscape in western Mass and the talent that exists in this area.
The film (www.thewhiskeytreaty.com) has already garnered awards and acceptance into ten film festivals, and will be screened at 8p.m., followed by a live concert at the EJ Bullock Building, 7012 Main Street, Readsboro, VT.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 8. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of. Tickets and info: 802-423-7706
