Scott Ainslie in Concert
Friday, June 19, 8pm-10:30pm
Scott Ainslie will be performing for the community at the historic EJ Bullock Building, 7012 Main Street in Readsboro, VT, on Friday, June 19th at 8 pm.
Armed with a variety of instruments, Scott Ainslie brings the history, roots music, and sounds of America alive. Scott is looking forward to presenting a couple sets of traditional acoustic blues and some original songs on guitars, a fretless gourd banjo, and his one-string cigar box guitar. His performances present a wonderful palette of sounds and stories that will delight the ear, awaken the mind, and satisfy the heart.
In a review in The Washington Post, Pamela Constable wrote:
“Scott is the kind of musician they don’t make any more, in the mold of the late Pete Seeger – unpretentious, dead serious about his craft, dedicated to preserving traditional American music and instruments, unabashedly faithful to left-liberal values, and so versatile he can make you weep one moment over the story of a dying steel town… and snicker appreciatively the next at a driving Mississippi blues song full of earthy innuendo.”
